Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead. Philippians 3:13 NIV
Have you forgotten anything recently?
"I had the privilege of speaking at Sweet Shannon's Sweet Monday in another neighborhood. Her theme was "Pretty in Pink." Deliberately choosing the pinkest, fluffiest (some may say gaudiest) pink sweater set to wear was so much fun. When I arrived, her two young children were peering out the glass front door. They were in their pink pajamas, anxiously awaiting the arrival of my pink truck, which I embarrassingly forgot to drive!! Oh sometimes, I forget the obvious, don't you? After a good laugh, I was reminded of God's word to us through Paul in Philippians 3:13 that there are some things worth forgetting. Forget what is behind and strain toward what is ahead. Not only can we forget our past failures but all our past achievements as well. We can live in the present and strain toward what is ahead. What is ahead? Heaven and an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. (1 Peter 1:4 NIV) That should tickle us pink and be a truth we never forget."
S.P. (Sweet Pea): Why don't you wear pink tomorrow. Forget what is behind and don't forget your large inheritance in Christ!
